About the Role
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting business costs while supporting critical financial functions such as cost accounting, bill of material (BOM) audits, and financial analysis. You will be actively involved in the month-end close process, audit support, and special projects that contribute to the company’s financial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Purchasing teams to develop accurate quotes.
- Assist in OEM project pricing proposals to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.
- Perform ad-hoc cost analysis to support operational decisions.
- Participate in month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support audit requests by preparing and providing financial data as needed.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns in compliance with regulations.
- Track, analyze, and report on warranty costs to support business decisions.
- Work closely with Production teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date Bill of Materials (BOMs) through regular audits and reviews.
- Partner with Accounts Receivable to manage cash applications and month-end reconciliations.
- Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead costs versus budget/standards, providing insights on variances.
- Assist the Controller in implementing and improving cost accounting policies and internal controls.
- Develop and maintain labor and overhead rates, budgets, and forecasts.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, including general ledger management, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to cost accounting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
