Chief Strategy Officer

Role Overview
We are now looking for a Chief Strategy Officer to be responsible for the end‑to‑end execution of Evac’s Strategy. This includes strategic transformation, rigorous performance management, and leading the company’s M&A agenda from lead identification through to post‑merger integration. Acting as a hands‑on execution partner to the Group Leadership Team and the Board of Directors, the Chief Strategy Officer ensures that Evac’s strategic ambitions translate into tangible results, on time and at scale. The position also acts as a key interface with the Board on strategic initiatives and ensures the organisation invests in the right initiatives, delivers them well, and achieves measurable business impact, while building long-term delivery capability.
We are looking for a strong, purpose-driven leader who will be shaping and executing the Evac strategy by supporting and challenging the business owners in their responsibilities. You have an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset and strong commercial and financial know-how. You have a strong track record in executing business development programs with tangible results. You are strategic while still being operational and an active member of the group leadership team in leading the growth phase of our business.
The location of the role is open and will require frequent travel and regular presence at Evac headquarters in Finland.
The role reports to the CEO and acts as the critical partner in driving Evac’s value creation agenda, acting as an execution partner to the management team and a key interface to the Board of Directors.
In Your Role You Will:
Own strategy process and drive Evac’s value creation plan/strategy implementation.
Translate strategic objectives into a coherent portfolio of initiatives.
Ensure alignment between strategy, resource allocation, and execution capacity.
Actively support initiative owners with hands‑on execution, problem‑solving, and capability‑building.
Embed rigorous performance management based on business strategy and priorities.
Prepare Board materials and take Board minutes where required.
Provide insights into market, customer & competitive landscape.
Orchestrate strategy reviews, communicate critical implementation updates to the Group Leadership team and the board.
Lead M&A processes, proactively driving Evac’s inorganic growth agenda.
Own and lead post‑merger integration, ensuring rapid business‑case realization.
Act as an internal lead for M&A, coordinating internal teams, stakeholders and advisors.
Constructively challenge business owners, executives, and the Board to drive best‑possible outcomes.
Enable disciplined execution through fact‑based decision‑making, strong KPIs, and consistent follow up and communicate realisation of benefits.
You combine strategic thinking with practical implementation, playing an active role in the group leadership team as we lead the company through its growth phase.
Keys to Success:
10+ years in top‑tier consulting, private equity, or corporate development, ideally in industrials or manufacturing.
Excellent analytical skills and solid strategic planning skills.
Proven ability to own and drive complex strategic and operational initiatives to completion.
Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑complexity environments with active private‑equity ownership.
Ability to build trust with senior leadership, the Board, and stakeholders across the organisation.
Hands‑on experience in M&A execution including due diligence, transaction management, and especially post-merger integration.
Excellent communication skills, with near-native level fluency in written and spoken English.
Persistent focus on results, prioritisation, accountability, and the ability to see both the big picture and key details.
Data‑driven approach grounded in independent analysis and fact‑based decision making.
An entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, a strong commercial and financial toolkit, good process and time management.
Act as a sparring partner for CEO and actively contribute to Evac Group development.
Excellent leader with solid track record of building highly engaged teams.
Ready to challenge status quo, set demanding goals and lead by showing strong personal example.
