Trade Compliance Manager

We are now looking for an experienced and proactive Trade Compliance Manager to join our Global Operations team.
As Trade Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations, indirect taxes (duties and VAT), export control, military contract requirements, and other trade-related regulations across our global operations. You will develop and implement processes, support project execution, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed compliance in our daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead compliance for indirect taxes (duties and VAT) by developing, implementing, and monitoring related procedures.
- Support Supply Chain and Project Management with day-to-day trade compliance activities.
- Interpret and apply export control and customs regulations (EU, ITAR, BIS, WCO, WTO, UK, FI, FR, DE, etc.).
- Evaluate licensing needs, manage applications, and maintain control processes.
- Ensure compliance with military contract terms and related legal requirements in collaboration with Legal.
- Oversee customs clearance processes and ensure smooth border crossings.
- Develop and maintain Intrastat reporting tools and procedures.
- Provide compliance training for Global Operations teams.
- Ensure proper Tariff and ECCN classification in cooperation with product teams.
- Perform other tasks as defined by the line manager.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of customs and export control regulations.
- Proven experience in Supply Chain operations and trade compliance (min. 5 years).
- Technical degree (B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret regulations and contractual requirements and translate them into practical business procedures.
- Self-driven with virtual leadership and project management capabilities.
- Fluent in Finnish and English (both written and spoken).
- Proficiency in data management, Excel, and ERP systems.
