Field Service Technician
We are now looking for a Field Service Technician to be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and commissioning services on docked and sailing vessels. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability of our systems, maintaining the quality standards of the Evac Group, and providing exceptional customer support. Regular travel, both domestically and internationally, is required, with preferred locations in Germany, Finland, or Norway
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform maintenance and repair tasks on both docked and sailing vessels, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
- System Commissioning: Lead the commissioning of systems on ships, typically taking 3-4 weeks at shipyards, ensuring systems are operational and meet specifications.
- Technical Reporting: Provide detailed, precise, and professional job reporting, including recording and compiling data for analysis and future reference.
- Customer Support: Offer technical support to end customers, addressing their needs and ensuring a high level of service.
- Travel: Travel extensively both domestically and internationally to various field locations, often requiring nonstandard work schedules.
Key Competencies:
- Educational Background: Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience within the Marine Industry.
- Field Experience: Proven ability to perform work in the field, including onboard vessels, with experience handling mechanical and electrical tasks.
- Technical Skills: Strong skills in electrical and mechanical work; experience with PLCs, PLC programming, and hydraulic systems is advantageous.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings with precision.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, essential for effective reporting and customer interaction.
- Software Proficiency: Competence in using Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word and Excel, for documentation and analysis.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to manoeuvre up and down ladders multiple times per day and work in confined spaces.
- Adaptability: Capacity to work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
